NSW: "Star"-studded fun run to be world's largest

Sydney's City2Surf is on today .. described as the world's largest run this year.

A record 75-thousand participants have registered for the famous fun run .. now in its 39th year.

The event over a 14 kilometre course from Hyde Park to Bondi Beach is now bigger than
the London and New York marathons combined.

Running legend HEATHER TURLAND .. female winner of the City 2 Surf in 1994 and 1996
.. says she'll make a comeback this year .. after feeling frustrated as a spectator.





The race starts at 9 am.

Roads along the course from the CBD to Bondi will be closed from 5 am .. but roads
in the CBD and east Sydney will re-open by midday .. while roads in Bondi Beach will open
by 4 pm.

Meanwhile .. organisers have warned registered participants to reconsider their participation
if they're experiencing any flu-like symptoms .. to help contain the swine flu.
