NSW:Escort offered hush money over death

A prostitute who witnessed the death of a co-worker during a drug-fuelled sex session
with a Sydney neurosurgeon has told a court he offered her 50-thousand dollars to keep
quiet.

SURESH SURENDRANATH NAIR is charged with the February 2009 manslaughter of 23-year-old
VICTORIA MCINTYRE and the murder in November 2009 of 22-year-old SUELLEN DOMINGUES-ZAUPA.

The women had been hired as escorts by NAIR and the 41-year-old allegedly supplied
both with cocaine in the lead-up to their deaths at his Elizabeth Bay apartment.

A committal hearing's underway for NAIR at Sydney's Downing Centre Local Court.

Today Columbian-born CARMEN HERNANDEZ-CARDONA told the court she was hired by NAIR
on November 19 .. .. and she contacted Ms DOMINGUES-ZAUPA to come along after he requested
two girls.

She says all three were snorting lines of cocaine .. supplied by NAIR .. which she
says was strong.

Ms HERNANDEZ-CARDONA has told the court Ms DOMINGUES-ZAUPA started to shake uncontrollably
.. so NAIR gave her a sedative .. and told her he was a doctor and to trust him.

She says NAIR took her mobile phone when she tried to call Triple 0 .. and she saw
Ms DOMINGUES-ZAUPA stop breathing.

She says NAIR called two men who arrived at the apartment a short time later .. and
offered her 50-thousand dollars not to talk about it .. which she refused.

Ms HERNANDEZ-CARDONA left the property a short time later and cashed three cheques
from Nair worth a total of more than 26-thousand dollars.

She later lied over the phone to police .. saying everything was fine when she left.

The hearing continues.
